Fantasy for Drums and Electronics (2005) is derived from another piece of mine, Two Minute Fantasy for Solo Piano (2004). Both pieces are simply inspired by - like many musical fantasies - a gift of spontaneous muse. The piano solo is the result of an improvisation. The drums and electronics version expands on those ideas, latching on to some more than others. Generated and manipulated with Sonar software, the electronics material creates a vehicle with which to partner mostly improvised drum set playing, performed here by me in William Paterson University's recording studio. --John Ferrari
